The Queen’s Centenary

Description

The Queen’s Centenary Sampler marks 100 years since her birth.
The sampler celebrates our longest reigning Monarch, and acknowledges her sense of humour, with marmalade sandwiches, featured in her wonderful Paddington sketch at the Platinum Jubilee.

This sampler has the flowers of the four countries of United Kingdom.
The flowers are based upon the diamond brooches that were presented to the Queen on her Diamond Jubilee, by the Sultan of Oman.
Sparkling metallic thread is used to add vibrancy to the gemstones in the Crown

The text reads:-
“21st April 2026 – the Centenary of the birth of Queen Elizabeth II”
and
“our longest serving monarch 1952-2022″

It will be easy to obtain a frame for the stitched sampler because it fits a standard 10″ x 12” frame.
This sampler contains special threads that are not available commercially, and so it is not available as a chart.

The  20 shades come threaded on a card so you do not need to spend time sorting them ~ so you can stitch away with no delay!
For a personal touch a completion slip adds your name and date to the back of your work

The colours used have evolved over the decades, the diamond sampler is more vibrant, and the golden sampler has more golden tones.
